I finally had a chance to play in the studio with some of the items from my birthday shopping spree. This little fabric book was created with spring in mind using calico prints with robins egg blue hues.

You will see oodles of mother of pearl buttons sew throughout, an antique lace dust cover, vintage lace trims, beading, fabric flowers, seam binding ribbon and vintage hankies sewn into the book.
Of course, little collage faces have also been incorporated on to each page too!

I hope to use more of the items found at the antique mall in upcoming pieces. The little scale is going into my studio area along with the large wooden box to hold supplies. I probably will paint the box a shabby white as I am currently working on some drawers down in our basement.

Spring always makes me want to redecorate and spruce up the house. The snowflakes are falling today all big and fluffy, but I have already heard “Mr. Robin” and I know that it won’t be long until winter is over.

Happy Monday!

Dear Nancy, my eyes have been looking, looking and looking once more, on this beautifully made little book of treasures. Treasuren on every page, in the form of your use of lovely laces, and fabrics ,the sweetest images, and the hearts and flowers and buttons. It is adorable in,the blue tones with the white and natural, gorgeous, and so fresh.
Here snow layes on my windows, it is storming, and real winter again- I hope I will also soon hear the Robin from my window-but guess I have to wait longer than you :-)
    Hugs from Dorthe

Beautiful lacy book. I recognize some of the sweet little children you used.. I have several of those myself. We aren’t having snow, but it’s been threatened by the weatherman!!!

I wish we had some nice antique malls here, but usually if you find anything vintage it is junk or way over priced! Beautiful book, Nancy! Love all the fabrics and laces used so perfectly! Hope you are staying warm! Hugs!

Hope you got just enough snow to not make things inconvenient … we have only gotten a couple of different episodes of just a few flakes…

Mr Robin was spotted here in N VA too ;)

Hi, How pretty is the journal you made. I found your blog from Pinterest…looks like we like a lot of the same things by your Pinterest boards. I too live in MI and with the continuing snow it is hard to see spring coming but am so looking forward to it.

    Take care, Lynnie
