Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Alaskan Sea Glass}

June 8, 2011

Yesterday, I received the most beautiful surprise in my mail! It was a hot and horrible day, and my mind was dreaming of running away up to northern Michigan (Mackinaw City) and letting the cool breezes of the lake cool me down. When I opened the package from Deb in Alaska it totally calmed my grumpy soul!

Inside was a beautiful handmade card, wonderful bits of loose sea glass and shells…and a GORGEOUS necklace that Deb made. My heart melted on the spot (and not from the heat) because not only was I blessed to receive treasures like this, but it was almost as though Deb knew my soul. Water girl I am…I live near it and need it in my life to keep my grounded. The sea glass bits will be displayed in my coastal theme bath…which Deb had no clue that my decor matches what she sent perfectly.

I will cherish this beautiful necklace and it will fit in so well with my wardrobe.
Thank you sweet Deb for raising my spirits and blessing my heart!

I am trying today to stay cool again – our high will be above 96 degrees! Happy Wednesday! :)

    That is a lovely surprise. Isn't this weather awful! One can hardly breath here in Ohio.

    It is HOT HOT HOT here in Toronto too — not much of a breeze either. I love what your friend sent you — sea glass just makes me melt!

    Girl, it is hotter than Haiti's here in the South. And I STILL have the grumpies…I do think I will until about October… give or take. This is a sweet necklace, I love the frosty look of sea glass, and this color is just delicious. I cherished gift…xo

    What a lovely surprise! I am so thrilled for you. The card is really fab and the necklace is so pretty!

    Mackinaw is a really great place to cool down let your eyes rest on the lake views. I am glad you have this great comfort near. (how far away are you from there?). My son lives in S.S.M Ontario, so about an hour from Mackinaw.

    Hugs,
    Terri
