Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Altered Fira 9 Drawer Cubby}

April 6, 2009

I purchased this “Fira” Cubby drawer from Ikea two weeks ago for my new studio space. Over the weekend I stained and altered it. I am very happy with the results, and would like to get a few more. The drawers hold quite a bit and they are fairly sturdy. Papers I used are from K & Company, walnut stain and distress inks…and plenty of time while altering.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    I wanted to do that a while back, but there is no Ikea store anywhere near me, and they don't sell those online. I keep trying to find an alternative, so if anyone knows anywhere else to get drawers like these, please let me know! ~Lori
