{Altered Playing Cards}

July 20, 2008

I found a little time this weekend to alter a few things. I have been wanting to try altered playing cards since WSW at 2peas…and grabbed a deck of cards at the dollar store over the weekend. I used alcohol inks, UTEE, gold embossing powder, old book text, and some vintage images (a few are freebies, the rest are from Lisa’s Altered Art and Karen Ink)…love the fact that the cards are the same size as an ATC – so they fit perfectly in clear sleeves.

On a happy note…I found out this morning that my “Sergeant Sugar Lump” can come home for a “break” from deployment. Sometime between August 6 – 10th I can expect him home. :) Soooo excited and scared at the same time. I know my time with him will be brief when he comes home – but it has been 9 months and seems like a lifetime right now!

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Nancy, these are awesome! I always use playing cards as atc backs, esp the cute, funny type cards. Gives them a bit of strength, too. I am SO happy and proud for you that Andrew is getting a break! Please thank Andrew for his service & sacrifice. Blessings to your family. Thanks for sharing your bliss with us!
