{Baby Dumpling Altered Cabinet Card}

altered baby cabinet card

I had some fun with an old vintage baby cabinet card yesterday. I love working with “unknown ancestors”…and this little photo was calling to me. The background is from an old cabinet card album and I added layers of fabric, vintage lace, and mother of pearl buttons. A Tim Holtz charm and paper rose as embellishments.

The leaves are also slowly turning on the lake. I took this photo last night. My maple tree is turning the brilliant shade of orange (my favorite trees in the fall) and I hope to share some photos of that next week.

Happy Sunday everyone!

    Dearest Nancy-
    I love how you built your collage on the old cabinet card- so lovely- and love the sweet baby and beautiful rose -also—- the rose highlighting the dark background of the old photo so beautiful.
    I wish I could be on your class, Nancy- but the next 6 weeks, I am only allowed to create for my shop, and not to” play”.

    Beautiful Nancy!
    The leaves look gorgeous too- Pikes Peak had snow and some of Northern Colorado Springs had some- too early for me! I haven’t had a chance to look at the class, but I will and if I can I will sign up. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations!

    How beautiful!
    I have only recently started collecting old photos.
    It has become somewhat of an obsession, feeling so connected when you find one.

    Have a wonderful and creative Autumn day!

    Thanks Nancy for the kind words! We will get through it all, it is just hard sometimes- too many things at once! I understand how much you miss your Dad too! I am hoping to keep my Dad healthy for as long as possible, his cancer has progressed. On the 22nd I will rejoice your Anniversary!
