Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Bébé Anna Cabinet Card Canvas}

August 16, 2012

This is “Anna” a cabinet card from my collection. The photo was taken in Massachusetts. The name “Anna” and Merry Christmas is written on the back. I wanted to give her a new home so she has been incorporated into an altered vintage canvas that features old book pages, vintage laces, cabinet card photo, and Mother of pearl buttons.

I wonder what became of “Anna”…she looks like she came from a good Italian family to me? What do you think?

    Awesome pics, This one reminds me of some pics I have of my mom and her brother form the 1914 and 1912. Somehow they all look alike, lol.

    Dear Nancy, this is a wonderful way of using those beautiful laces, and Anna, surely now, if not before, does have a faboloues “home”
    She looks beautiful with the old book page behind, and could surely have been born in a good Italian family :-)
    Love your thoughts about her,- HUGS to you, and xx.

    Anna’s new “home” is truly beautiful. I have a number of these great old pictures…my two boys are always asking..”is that a relative?” Ha. I finally did put out some recently acquired real relatives cabinet cards.
    Best wishes for a real cool weekend.

    Hello Nancy,
    Your new creation is so very lovely. The little bits of lace mixed with buttons is the perfect touch to go with the sweet baby. I agree with you, there is an Italian look to the image, and the baby.
    Hugs,
    Terri
