I finished up this altered cabinet card canvas this week and was pleased with the results. It had only been sitting on my art table for 5 months plus, but I just couldn’t put together the final embellishments on the piece. Finally, something clicked. I call her ” Bèbè Sadie” and used an original antique cabinet card photo. Old ledger paper, laundry clothespin, rusty pins in a vile, and bits of antique lace are scattered over the piece. A paper rose takes center stage on the most unique piece of lace.
The weather is getting much colder here and so many autumn leaves are at their peak. I wish they could stay a few more weeks before disappearing. Have a wonderful weekend.
Bebe Sadie collaged onto canvas and surrounded by her favorite things is Creative Bliss.
Hi Nancy, she looks so cozy and content, and why wouldn’t she inside your exquisite cocoon. Love all your gorgeous elements. Your recipe at the end sounds mighty attractive too. I shall line up all ingredients for tomorrow night for a treat! Nicola x
Love this sweet baby canvas. That happens to me too – sometimes it takes a long time before the perfect finishing touches present themselves!
Nancy,
Stopping by for a late night visit, too late, I really should be stepping away from the laptop!
Oh isn’t this just adorable, from the cabinet card to all the beautiful elements you brought together to tell a story.
There is a definite Autumnal nip in the air these days, a drop in temperature to say the least. Have my bedsocks at the ready and a hot water bottle in bed … oh I do love to lead a glamorous life LOL.
Hope you are doing okay and that life is getting even a little bit easier for you.
Wishes
Lynne

This is so beautiful, I love you used the old cabinet card, Nancy, and adhered the lovely autumn colour tones , with the flower, and the old peg. Just adorable, and as always I so like your use og many buttons .
My internet is back on again :-) so glad to visit you, dear friend.

What a wonderful old picture and I love the embellishments you added to create this collage.
We’re finally getting into some real Fall weather. The good thing is we’re getting some much needed rain, the bad side to that is it’s stripping all the leaves off the trees. We’ll have to take in all the larger green tomatoes to ripen in the house… who’d have thought we’d still have tomatoes on the vine this late in Oct???
