Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Belly Dancer Gothic Arch Book}

August 10, 2009

I made this Gothic Arch book featuring “Belly Dancers” for my sister Leslie…who is a Belly Dancer. She was quite thrilled with the little project and even donated some embellishments from her costumes (coins, beads, and bindis)…I enjoyed the challenge of creating something with different images, beads and crystals.

And as the dancers say…

Namaste – “The light in me honors the light in you”…Happy Monday everyone!

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Nancy! Oh how I adore your arch book! It's stunning! Your art is so moving and I just love your style! It's funny; because I am recalling your art published in the Somerset publications and have always been blown away! Best always – Marilyn

    Hi Nancy, what a beautiful book you made for your sister. Thank you so much for sharing the room paint color with me, I am going to go look at paint samples this weekend. I am glad you liked my storage pieces, it is just hard trying to decide what makes the cut in the studio and what doesn't. I have some rather large pieces for a small room. You said the word I was dreading…"purging" I am not so good at that, but that maybe my only solution :) Thank you again, Rose
