Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Big Fish}

May 30, 2007

This was one of my first attempts at making collages last year. I submitted it to Stampington and it was featured in their Somerset Memories June/July 2007 issue. I just received my copy yesterday.

The collage was made on Bazzill cardstock. Pattern papers, various ephemera, buttons, old vintage fishing photos, brads, lettering tiles and stickers were added. Tim Holtz vintage photo ink, Utee, and string were also added. The rubber stamp is a fishing lure stamped in black ink.

Fishing has always been a big thing in my family – my dad was an avid fisherman and spent many hours with his grandchildren fishing.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.
