Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Bittersweet Day}

May 4, 2007

Today would have been my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. My Mom has been struggling with this upcoming event more than any of the other holidays or celebrations we have endured since Dad passed in September. She wants to be “left alone” – we had hoped to get her out and do a family dinner this evening.

If you could say a little prayer for my Mom that she find strength and courage to get through today – I would really appreciate it.

This is a collage I made using Johanna’s Yellow Color Challengebackground from her blog. I also used all Just Johanna Stamps. Vintage images are from Nancy Dooren’s blog.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Very nice art! I'm sorry about your mom being blue… Maybe some flowers would cheer her…

    I am saying a prayer for your mom right now……I am sure she will be sad, but because she loved your dad so much…..this is important to her! Sometimes just being alone, having a good cry and remembering is the medicine we need…..even though it is lonely it can make us stronger.

    I can't beging to know what going through this situation feels like. But I can pray!! Ann Downing sings a song–and it has been put on a stamp actually–Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal…the song is great…as is your card..so sweet! I will pray for your family, Kerilou
