Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Simply Neutrals #46}

July 3, 2018

Hello! Happy July! I was so happy to find out today was Simply Neutrals Tuesday…not because I have been in the studio creating things (because I have not) but because I love when Wen has it on her blog!

Today, I rustled up an oldie from the art archives using Bingo Cards…

I am joining Wen for Simply Neutrals Tuesday. Please visit her blog and see Wen’s and see many other artists beautiful posts as well: appleapricot.blogspot.com

Little bits of fabric collage, papers, and computer font text were added to the fronts of the cards.

My friend, little Tucker is growing like a weed. He just turned 7 months old. Still a joy to have around the house (and he tires me out too!)…this is his “snake eye” look. I’ve never owned a cat with gold eyes…he is my first. I hope you are staying cool my friends (we hit near 100 over the weekend) and have a wonderful July 4th Holiday!

Happy May My Friends!

I did not mean to be gone away so long. I am trying to get back on track again with my blog, creating, and many other things.

Yesterday, Miss Adelaide received a new look with an antique top and some altered jewelry I made a few years back. It appears she put on a little weight during the winter months! :-) I honestly marvel at the how tiny women were back in the day. I love the delicate embroidery work on this garment she is wearing.

I’m thankful that spring finally came…that sunshine sure is needed!

{Simply Neutrals Tuesday #39 – Little Altered Dress}

March 27, 2018

This little white dress was a recent project of mine over the course of several weeks. I like to take busy work with me to the doctor’s office, and this was a perfect one to create and stitch while waiting.

I love the little girl’s face, so sweet and lovely.

Little bits of antique and vintage laces, beads, sari silk, fabrics and mother of pearl buttons…

The little piece all finished, and hanging from the hanger.

Have a wonderful week and Happy Easter to all of you!

{Simply Neutrals Tuesday #38 – Spring in the Studio}

March 19, 2018

Happy Spring! I love to retreat to my studio area when I can because the mood is very soothing to me.

I never really realized how birds, birdhouses/cages, and butterflies were all over in my Expedit. I guess Michael’s Craft stores must have had a theme going the year I bought them.

I have been hearing Red Wing Blackbird’s for many weeks. They must live behind my home, because if I stand out on the deck their song is non-stop. That is always a welcome sign of spring in Michigan!
