Studio Space Finds & Journaling

August 5, 2020

I just wanted to share my latest studio additions this past week. Miss Adelaide has a new vintage straw hat that was found at a recent shopping trip. I thought it suited her and she seems to like it too!

I have been trying to journal from time to time. Since my stroke effected my right side, learning to write was (and is) difficult. I don’t do it often, but drawing faint lines with a pencil really helped. I am sharing that spread with you.

My new banker’s chair was something I won on an online auction. The leading bid was $9.00, so I probably went a little too high at $23.00 but so happy that I did. It was quite the haul to go get it picked up too! I asked on Instagram if I should paint it white to match my studio or leave it. Leaving it seems to be what most favored. Tucker (my cat) loves it too. I plan to sew a chair pad for it as well.

{Autumn Delight}

October 1, 2019

Hello and Welcome October!

It’s been a month since I last posted? That doesn’t seem possible, but the past month was busy. I have been working on cleaning and purging my studio, but mainly making it more “safe” for me since my fall in June.

There has been Occupational therapy twice a week and a few follow up appointments with bone doctors and what not. I hope to graduate from OT next week and get a break for awhile. Four months of doctor’s and PT/OT has gotten very old.

I was able to create a few days and have been preparing for a show in November. Lots of cards, journals, stockings and Christmas items. The show is just something small and local so that will be fun.

My little Grandson is growing like a weed and really favors his Daddy (my son) when he was a baby. He will be two months in another week. Hard to believe.

I hope to embrace this month and all it’s splendor! May October be a beautiful month in every hue!

{Miss Adelaide Rose}

January 6, 2018

About a week before Christmas, I came upon an amazing find. There was a local estate sale that I had attended and found some great things. But, there were a few items I was still interested in. I went back for a retro mink coat for my daughter that was a complete steal, and the nice young man remembered me. I want  dress form (they had many) and they were all too pricey. So, he brought this one down from  the loft and said I could have it for $20.00! I was thrilled!

I had fun dressing her with an antique lace collar and silver locket that my children gave me years ago.

As you can see, her top neck area is broken, but I love her so it adds character. I also love the base. I have not seen any base like that on the internet or Pinterest.

I asked on my social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) for name suggestions and I am offically announcing her name as:

Miss Adelaide Rose

I will just call her Miss Adelaide. I look forward to having her in the studio area and dressing her up as seasons change.

{Getting Organized…}

September 4, 2017

Happy September! Today, I have been in my new place 6 weeks. I really don’t think that is possible. I am still moving items here and there as work is done. There is a painter here as I type, and I hope to at least have my living area in order by the end of the day. My studio area is the only part of the house that was move in ready. So, I have been slowly hanging items up and getting it organized. I so need to create again, it has been since May. I cannot believe that summer is over now…I spent it packing and unpacking.
