{Happy Hearts in 2019}

Happy New Year! Miss Adelaide was getting her Valentine look today. Complete with mylar heart garland. It is one of my favorite holiday’s (former florist and February baby)…and I look forward to it during the winter months.

Today, I was able to have a little creative time. I have been suffering from a full blown head cold since New Year’s Day. It is the worst I have had in years. This little heart is made using some tinsel I found at the dollar store last year, silver paper cleaners, pattern papers, ephemera, images, stickers and buttons.

{Valentine Cards}

I had a little time to create some cards last weekend and thought I would share them. They have little bits of pink German scrap on them, silver stickles, buttons, and seam binding ribbon. I am getting in the mood for Valentine’s Day, and want so badly to create some other projects I have waiting…but creative free time is not there.

Next month, I have a little local venue teaching card making (Valentine’s) and this will be my first class post-stroke. Hopefully, it will go well and my speech and memory won’t be all over the place (it happens)…anyhow…Stay warm my friends! It sure has been a true winter!

{Pink Valentine Tags & Silver German Scrap}

I am sharing a few Valentine tags this morning. I added little silver German scrap wings to one of them. Each had a seam binding ribbon on the top too! I am happy to announce this is day #4 of sunshine here in Michigan. January was actually one of the gloomiest months on record. It is bitter cold outside, but the sunshine is amazing!

Hello and Happy February! Since I have not been creating today I am featuring some projects from Valentine past. February is one of my favorite month’s because of Valentine’s Day…and also I was born in this month.

I went to the doctor again last week and told him all my woes. I knew in my gut that things were not right, and he listened and ordered many blood tests. I received the results by phone call last Saturday and now know that I have mono/EBV (Epstein Barr Virus)…honestly…I have never been so ill. Since I have auto immune problems anyways it probably really hit me hard. Today I had an ultrasound on liver (fine) and more blood work and I will go in again Thursday for blood again. I am still not convinced that the flu shot and tdap vaccine did not cause this as that is when I got so ill in December and it just seemed to be escalating.

The good news is I know what it is now and I have a new appreciation for anyone that has mono. Trying to rest and take it easy, but honestly after 18 months of fighting the stroke and deficits from it and now this I feel more then defeated.

My goal for the month is to get well and create something. Anything. Art does heal and I am a firm believer in that. Thanks for listening to me wah wah wah one more time. I hope next time my post will be much more happy and healthy!
