Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Chicago – Gothic Arch}

August 23, 2009

This weeks theme at Gothic Arches is “Cities”…I selected “Chicago” for my theme because it holds a place dear in my heart. I met my husband while he was living there. While the city is not where I would call home, Chicago is a wonderful place to live and visit.

I used old vintage postcards reprints of the skyline, and added a flapper image in the corner. A small vintage postcard dangles from the bottom of the arch. I can’t wait to see what others select for their “city” this challenge. :)

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.
