Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Egg Fabric Collage}

March 13, 2012

Spring is here! It has not arrived officially with the calendar date, but the clocks have sprung forward (whoop whoop!), the birds are back (Sand Hill Cranes, Red Wing Blackbirds, Robins) and the weather is glorious.

This little fabric collage was inspired with spring in mind. I used oodles of vintage laces, a vintage egg print on fabric, mother of pearl buttons and a piece of driftwood I found on the shores of Lake Huron last summer! :) I can almost feel the waves rolling on my toes…still a bit too cold for the Great Lakes! ;0)

In other news…

I am also feeling very honored!
The lovely Michelle G. Ferullo of petitemichellelouise.blogspot.com
is the Guest Curator Week On Crescendoh. Michelle will be featuring different artists each day on the blog. I am tickled that she will be including my art on Wedneday, March 14, 2012.

Hope you can stop by Michelle’s featured posts and take a peek:

    I look at this and say wouldn’t it make a beautiful alternative to an easter egg. Spring has sprung with this absolutely delightful representation of spring and renewal and love the oodles of lace.
    Congratulations on being Featured, you deserve this and more.
