{Family Gothic Arches}

September 9, 2007

This weeks theme at Gothic Arch Challenge was family. I made a three arches using photos from different generations.

basicgothicarch
This arch features one of the last photographs of my son Andrew and my Dad.
It was taken at Ft. Benning, Georgia when Andrew graduated from Basic training.
It will always tug at my heart strings.

simmskidsarch

This precious photo is of my maternal grandmother Jessie Simms Ford and her siblings Bill and Florence. It circa’s about 1907. My grandmother is the dark haired girl in the background.

This is a partial photo of my grandparents (maternal grandmother and maternal grandfather) with their school classmates. They only attended until the 8th grade – and all lived in the same farming community. How funny that Orla would later marry Jessie…Bill and Florence are my grandmother’s siblings. Love this photo!
