Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Fantasy Arch}

March 8, 2009

This weeks theme at Gothic Arches is “Fantasy”. My friend Daniel had mailed me an embossed arch he had made using a recycled beverage can, punches (stars and hearts), embossing and paint. He makes the most amazing pieces with tin.

I used his creation around the edge of the arch and painted an old piece of sheet music for the background that was adhered to cardstock. Stamped the background with white flourishes and silver stars. The “moon fairy” image was then added. Accents of silver sparkling stars were added to the edge of the arch.

    This is just beautiful, Nancy! Very, very unique. I thought it would be fun to try an arch since I haven't done one before, but didn't realize that Gothic Arches is now a private webpage. Oh well, I am having fun looking at all of the wonderful arch creations that others have done for this week! Smiles, Jann

    What a nice friend you have. This is stunning. I am seeing all this through the eyes of a Non-artist, someone who has no abilities at all and I must say, it is all eye candy to me.
