Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{In Memory of a fallen Soldier}

May 25, 2008

In rememberance of those that have served our country and lost their lives.

“If I leave here tommorrow,

Will you still remember me?

‘Cause I’m as free as a bird now…

And this bird will never change…”

I received an email that a soldier was killed within my son’s company on Friday in Iraq. There were also 3 other soldiers wounded. A pressure plate IED with 200 pounds of HME explosive underneath the road took his life. A tree will be planted for PFC Norris at the tree memorial in Fort Stewart, Georgia. A tree is planted for every soldier of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division lost to war.

Please keep the affected families as well as all of our soldiers in your prayers.

    God forgive me, I like to see trees planted, but I want every one of those boys back home alive and well.
