Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Kaleidoscopic Tag Book}

October 29, 2012

On this cold, windy, and gloomy autumn day I needed a pick me up. For the past several weeks, I have been painting and reorganizing my bedroom and studio space. A large task that is done a little at a time. I figure by next October it will be complete!

This tag book has a kaleidoscope of colors which made my soul happy today. We are awaiting “Frankenstorm” from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. I hope our east coasters stay safe and warm.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Hi dear Nancy,
    those colours you have choosen are truly making my eyes and soul, happy, too-
    they are so bright and fresch, and the Paper Whimsy images as alwayes ,the sweetest.
    Love the twinkling butterflyes, too.
    Nancy, I hope the storm will not effect your area to bad, and wishes you a happy afternoon and evening, dear friend.

    This is just the sweetest thing. I love the colors too…and the Paper Whimsy faces always bring a smile. I want to do some of these projects now that I’m officially out of Halloween mode!!! We have family in the east but hope they’re far enough inland they won’t be much affected by the storm, and the rest make it through it all safely.

    Beautiful tags! Just gorgeous and I love your post, below, with your new art space – the paint color is just fabulous.

    My, art space, too is in my master bedroom. One side of the room is “bedroom” and the other side is my art space. I did have place in basement but just did not like being down there; felt out of touch. We do what we have to do and it works out. Your art and creations are always so beautiful.

    Anxiously awaiting greeting my new grand daughter tomorrow!

    Hope you’re well and thoughts of you always.

    Love, Marilyn xxoo
