Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Little Fabric Pouches}

August 28, 2011

These are little fabric pouches that I made from coffee stained eyelet, seam binding ribbon, vintage laces, mother of pearl buttons and vintage fabric images. A handmade flower is set at the top of one of the bags. So sweet and delicate.

I just finished the most amazing six weeks of my Artful Gathering course. I had such a lovely group of students in my classroom. It was delightful watching their projects come to life. Quite a few of the ladies created books using photo scans of their family ancestors. It was fun to learn about their heritage and see the faces. Thank you AG students for a wonderful experience!

Happy Sunday everyone! :) I’m heading off to the Summer Herb Faire this morning and looking forward to finally meeting my art friend Carol Berger.

    Nancy, these little pouches are as precious as can be! The one thing I can grow quite well here are herbs, except dill! Have a terrible time with dill. Oregano, Sages, Thyme, Chives and Parsley, are like weeks and I have never replanted! Have fun!
