March is here and I honestly have not been doing much creating. I caught the “spring fever” bug and started organizing and purging around the house. Each day there is some new project to be started, and I am loving it because we all need to rejuvenate our souls from time to time…
Here are some new friends to add to my cabinet card collection. Aren’t they just precious? I {heart} them so much!
I’ve been welcoming March by taking care of a lot of little projects around the house…painting studio pieces to hold my supplies and also furniture pieces for the area…
I have had these Ikea Fira Drawers for several years (two sets) and finally painted and collaged both to match…I love these sweet little cubbies. Ikea no longer makes them.
This was one of my birthday finds at the local Antique Mall. I love the rusty look and it fits perfectly in my studio area…
Another gift at my birthday last month – this is a large suitcase from Micheal’s. I loved the ephemera print on the inside and outside and for now it holds large lace remnants and projects that I may be working on…
I have also been looking through old photos around here. You would never believe how many there are…I am also the keeper of both my Dad’s and Mom’s photographs. Really need a better system for storage and accessibility. This photo tugged at my heartstrings when I found it today. Love and Miss my Dad so much!
I hope your March is off to a great start! Not too many more days until Spring! xoxo
I LOVE your little drawers covered with sheet music… what beautiful storage!
I love looking at your photos! And the music sheet covered file drawers……..dreamy!!!!! Sending you a little cyber hug cause you miss your dad…..me too….mine’s been gone 3 years last month. I really enjoy your blog and follow you on fb. Just wanted to let you know :)
After all you put into your 14 Days of heARTS you deserve a good rest Missy!
Altho spring cleaning is far from resting :)
That scale is really wonderful and special drawers to hold your pretty laces and such … just perfect too!
Is that your father giving you away on your wedding day?
Precious photo …
we never really know when we take a photograph just what it might mean down the road…
Happy March dear Nancy

Loved this post, Nancy. Love your cabinet cards and the other treasures . . . the photo of your Dad is precious–is that you with him? Such a sweet picture!
Hi Nancy,
Many thanks for your recent “visit” to my blog, I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. The sewing machine I found in the doll house section of Michael’s.
Luv how you altered the drawer container AND it’s contents. Your Vintage scale is awesome, luv it, just can’t find anything like that is this part of Texas. :(
Hold down your ALT key and at the same time press the number 3 — ♥
You now have a heart!
Last month I sent you an e-mail, just chattin’, but guess I must have sent it to the wrong
e-mail address or it went to one of your studio e-mails. Anywho, I often think of you. Take care.
I too miss my Daddy, and he has been gone for nearly 25 yrs.! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could hug them just one more time and tell them how much we love them?
Take care and slow down on the Spring cleaning, you are going to make the rest of us look bad! LOL !!
Hugs,
Barb
Nancy! Love this post and thanks for sharing so much. Love, love, love the photo of you and your Dad! Precious for sure. Your sweet cubby is wonderful with the music sheets and the scale is awesome!!!!! Your treasure box from Michael’s and the precious photo cards. Love it all! Happy Belated Birthday my friend!
xxoo Marilyn
Hi Nancy! I love your cubbies and how you have them decorated, beautiful! And that scale is just adorable, I recently purchased one similar to yours to go in my kitchen. Have fun feathering your nest. That’s what I have been doing, not creating at all….
Hugs,
Robin
Wonderful post Nancy. The old scale is great.. I bought one many years ago when we were living in New Hampshire. It’s still pretty darn accurate. Love what you did with the cubbies. Aren’t those little spaces just great for storing treasures? Sweet picture of your dad. I lost my dad when I was nine years old.. and unfortunately have very few pictures. He was usually the one behind the camera. The only “formal” picture was his WWII army photo. You are so lucky to have all those photos.
Not quite got spring fever here yet…but most of our snow is gone. Mid-40’s this week to keep the melting going. I just need a little more warmth and sunshine to spark my “fever”!
Um..can I come and live in your room…Your beautiful finds have soooo much love in them..Omygosh the photo cards are stunning…I normally never have any luck finding a good one and last week I did and just about fell off my chair…I just cant stop thinking about the children in the photos..what were their lives like…
Love your cabinet and scale too!!and Really love the photo of you and Dad!! Happy March my friend!! xoxo
Gorgeous vintage eye-candy today, Nancy. And what a gorgeous picture of you and your Dad:)
BTW, the snow hit us hard this week, probably about eight inches landed on my very long driveway:( I’m ready for the “out like a lamb” part to kick in now!
Love it all Nancy-those cab card photos are precious!! We have LOTS of photos too but it is nice to once in awhile pull out the older ones and take a trip down memory lane.
Nancy…your photograph of you and your dad is so precious. I have a photograph similar to that with my dad and I treasure it as well. My father is also passed, as is my mother. I am so thankful for the love and nurturing they gave me. I’m sure you feel the same way. :) I love all of your “treasures”. The box your made over is perfect for your gorgeous laces. I do a very similar thing with a wood and metal box that I found at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. I hang a piece of lace out over the closed drawer, so I know which laces are in which drawers. It looks pretty cool. :) Thanks so much for the very sweet message you left on my blog. It’s always so nice to hear from you. I am such a fan of your beautiful work. <3 Candy
Dear Nancy, I love you took the Ikea drawers and made them totally your own-
And the weight is gorgeous, I too love those old rusty ones :-)
Your suitcage is another great find, and so filled with your wonderful laces, now.
The photo of your dad and mom is a wonderful keepsake, and I can understand you miss him very much.
Hugs from me, and a happy weekend !

Love what you did with the drawers Nancy. I bet your studio looks beautiful!
That’s on my to-do list this spring. Pull everything out, repaint and rearrange everything.
What an undertaking that will be.
I miss my dad too, I so feel your loss.
Hugs Lynn
Yes, all the wants and desires vs. the needs to attend to this time of year. Your photo is precious. Keep your wonderful memories close to surround you with loving hugs. Happy Hearts are Creative Hearts…
Beautiful things you have posted here, dear Nancy!

Hi Nancy, thanks for stopping by my blog and Pinterest boards. Your cabinet cards are gorgeous and I love what you did with the IKEA box too! Your suitcases are equally gorgeous, so many pretties to look at here! I see you are a fellow Michiganian, not too far away and I am definitely enjoying the warmer temps! Take care, ~Diane
I am spending the start of March similarly…though cleaning out unused supplies is my focus. Love the sweet cubbies and cabinet cards..such sweet poses! Let’s sweep through March and come alive in April along with spring!
Nancy, don’t we all need to tidy up a bit???? When you finish, want to come and help me out? Beautiful work and those drawers are so amazing and now another item on my Ikea list!!! The photo is priceless and what a blessing that you came upon it to bring back such wonderful memories in time! Enjoy the day my friend! Hugs!
What a great and beautiful way to store your little and bigger pieces of lace. And your mom was a most gorgeous bride Nancy! Your parents look so friendly and kind. I’m sorry you have to miss your dad. Take care, hugs, Wendy
