A wee cigar box made into a fairy land.
My daughter Allison (aka Alli) stopped by the other afternoon with her beau Sam, and we were looking through photos on her phone of a recent trip over to Saugatuck, Michigan. They walked out along the shores of Lake Michigan sledding from the dunes down to the beach when they took the photo on her phone. I fell in love with expressions on their faces and it literally melted my heart the moment she shared it.
Millie Mae is now almost 12 weeks old. She is “just barely” sleeping through the night…seems 4 and 5 am are her wake up times. Other than my lack of sleep – she is getting more enjoyable…and her big sister Hailey has been AMAZING with her!
Sam’s Mom gave Allison a huge collection of unknown relative cabinet cards…literally from their own family collection, that she no longer wished to keep them. My daughter (and son’s) known I adore “creepy attic photos” and they are now in my possession.
The interesting part of their history is they are from Detroit, or the Hamtramck area which has a HUGE Polish population. I’ve never seen so many communion photos even on an antique hunt which was very interesting, especially with young men. Now I have a nice stash to create some pieces with.
Beautiful altered cigar box, Nancy! Love the pics of your family with and without fur and those olden photographs are soooooo you! Hugs!
Terrific post Nancy, thank you for sharing. Love the cigar box, beautiful. Annette x

These are wonderful treasures-love the picture of your daughter. Your little baby is to cute.
Love all your art-this box is lovely
Oh those faces in the snow – quite magical Nancy!
I love your old photos and yes First Holy Communion day was very special and photos were always taken to record the moment.
I have one of myself and my cousin in front of the grotto of Our Lady – I might even use it in an art piece one day too. My dear mother made my dress and the hem was quite crooked, but I still remember how much I loved that dress…. only worn once!!
Your altered cigar box is beautiful Nancy.
Hugs

so many delightful things her Nancy! Beautiful cigar box and I love the gate. That photo of your daughter and her beau is really a gorgeous shot. Millie Mae is such a darling! And what a great gift to receive all the wonderful cab cards-I see lots of beautiful vintage projects coming up :)
Love what you’ve shared with us today! Thank you! Your daughter is beautiful; no surprise there :) xo
Nancy…your little altered cigar box is gorgeous. I love it! I so enjoyed reading your blog post and looking at all of your lovely photos. Your daughter and her beau, Sam are darling. Love that photo, too. The puppy is absolutely adorable and glad she is almost sleeping through the night. :) And .. .the creepy attic photos…wow! What a windfall to fall into your lap! haha Those are awesome photos and so glad that the didn’t end up in a flea market. There is something so sad about that for me…discarded relatives. These photos have found a good “home” with you! <3 Candy
Hi Nancy,
I love the snow photo, the cigar box and really love the vintage photo collection! Awesome!
I adore Millie Mae! You spell her middle name like my Grandmother’s was, mine is May. I also have a new grand dog her name is Oreo, she is small a maltipoo and is only 4 pounds at the moment. I got to know her she is 11 weeks old while I was in San Antonio for Tara’s AF retirement. LOL! after holding the tiny puppy I came home to the giant k-3 Bob, Merlin & Savannah and they are all about 15 pounds and felt like they weighed a ton!! Back to the real world, home, work and need to get moving creating and blogging. XO Linda
Wonderful photo of your beautiful daughter and her beau and look at Miss Millie Mae, what a cutie! Wonderful vintage photo stash, happy creating!
