Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Men ATC’s}

September 3, 2007

This weeks theme at TMTA was to create something with “Men” in mind. I made 3 atc’s using family members photographs.

The first is my Great-Great Grandfather Benjamin Simms who was from England and immigrated to the United States. He was a farmer.

The second is my Great-Grandfather James Henry Ford. He also was a farmer and lived in the same farming community as my Grandfather Simms did. His son Orla (my grandfather) would end up marrying Benjamin’s granddaughter – Jessie Mary Simms (my grandmother).

The third is an atc of my husband’s grandfather Mitchell Duvall. We lost Grandpa last October – but he was a Kentucky boy at heart. I took this photo of him and have always loved the character in his face.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.
