Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Mermaid Arch}

July 2, 2008

This weeks theme at Gothic Arches is “Mermaids”…I had a tough time with the theme because I do not have any mermaid images. I used one of my favorite vintage images from Nancy Dooren’s blog and added some sea images. Background swirls are done with 2-way glue and white embossing powder.
Stamps are from Sugar Lump Studios
and Paper Bag Studios, K & Co. papers.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    This turned out great! I wanted something with mermaids for a vintage swaps a while back and came up empty handed too! I love those fish you uses!

    I love the colors. Great layering of papers with the circles in the background. I think this definitely works for the mermaid theme. Precious cutie surrounded by some very cool fish.

    This is lovely, your little mermaid is so sweet! You know mermaids don't have tails when they're on dry land :)
