{Miss Penny Altered Rustic Tin}

This is Miss Penny…a rustic altered tin. Hubby helped with the aging process (small bonfire in our fire pit) which adds a wonderful patina to the tin. I then added wire with beads and mother of pearl buttons as embellishments. The tin has been collaged on both sides using Paper Whimsy Collage Sheet 002, bits of antique lace, an old skeleton key,and various ephemera. I love the abalone shell button on the front.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    This is so sweet! I like how the bow on the tin mimics the bow in Miss Penny's hair.

    Very pretty altered tin! I love that your husband helped you with it. I didn't know putting it in a fire helped.
    I love seeing what you are making : )

    Miss Penny is a sweetie! Faultless artwork as always. I love your use of the lace and yes, that button is stunning. First you inspire me with gothic arches and now I feel an aged tin happening at some time :) TFS. Lynne M x

    Gorgeous creation Nancy with two of my favorite PW girls … but really ALL of Gale's images are so very special.

    As soon as we are not roasting (it felt like 105 today here in VA = oh my … hotter tomorrow WHAT!) I have a big collection of tins to grill.

    You inspire in again and again.
    Wishing you and yours a lovely weekend

    What a gorgeous piece. Isn´t this nice when the man of the house gets involved in our projects:) Your man is roasting things and my man is collecting images, brochures and assorted nifty things on his travels. He opens his briefcase and says,,,mmm, maybe you could use this on a collage:) toooo cute aren´t they….

    This tin is such a great idea. This piece looks like some great find you might see at a garage sale in the deep south or something. When I look at it a story starts to form in my mind. It's really wonderful!!

    Love this tin…what a great idea with the bonfire, Nancy. Love working with the tins as well and each time I rust one it takes more time than I care to take (too anxious, I guess). I did find a solution at Michael's to speed up the process tho, which helps. your elements from Paper Whimsey are beautiful. I have a binder full of their beautiful images…they are so gorgeous. Hugs, Gayle.
