Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Noel Shabby Fabric Hanger}

November 21, 2010

This fabric collage was made using organic batting,mother of pearl buttons,snowflake charms, and a sweet Paper Whimsy image. I sprinkled some Christmas snow on it to give that extra sparkle.

and a few altered Chrismas books…

These items are available in my Etsy shop

I have been in the mood for Christmas. We are still settling into our home (some eight months later) and since it has a different layout then our home did last year at Christmas, I sit and contemplate where the decorations will go (or WHERE? did I put the lights)! We have a small break from school this week to celebrate Thanksgiving and that always spurs my holiday decoarting spirit.

Happy Sunday to you! :)

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Love the fabric hanger, and the image is very lovely- is it realy a Paper Whimsy?—your piece looks so piecefull, and pretty.

    Nancy, I love your vintage fabric collage Christmas art! I'm not much of a "red" person, but I love all of the silver, creams and golds. Have a lovely holiday and enjoy your time off!

    Great altered books and wall hanging. Timeless and very vintage. I will be spending next Christmas in a new home after 25 years here. It will be strange for you decorating your new home, but exciting too. Sue x
