Hello and Happy October!

I have been slowly settling into my new place since September 15. The whole move was a nightmare and I don’t ever want to go through something like it again. My realtor turned out to be a terrible person. The whole thing was so toxic it makes me ill thinking about it. But, I am still in one piece and have a roof over my head. I am still making trips to a storage unit to get my “stuff” and my furniture came last week. The air mattress was getting a little old to say the least!  One thing I do know, is we really do not need the things we think we need. We have so much stuff, and at the end of the day is that what really makes you happy? For me, I am ready to leave it all on the curb and let people have at it (I really think it could happen at this point) and that stuff is being moved and moved again.  In the end, I will be letting go of it very soon.

I am sharing some photos of the cute little town I live in now, it is about 40 miles north of where I lived for over 31 years so this is a major change. There are so many shops, historical buildings, and lawn art. Everyone is super friendly too! I took the bigger bedroom for my studio (because there is too much stuff)! I have missed you all and hope to hop on the blog (and art making) wagon soon!

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

Hey Nancy, you sure changed things up over here. Glad to see you are settling in. Your new town sounds super nice. Too bad about the awful realtor — how in the world does a horrible person like that make a living dealing with people all the time? You are so right about the stuff. Way too much. We had a leak in the attic space above the bathroom where I had boxes stored … filled with photos and mementos from when I was a child. I have to sort through it all and only keep what really has value at this point. Of course, some things I was forced to toss because of water and mildew damage. Good luck with everything. Take care!

It sounds to be a real nice town and it’s good to hear that you’re settling in, Nancy. I’m sorry you had to deal with such an awful realtor.
I also moved a lot of stuff that I ended up giving or throwing away. Hopefully I’ll be wiser when it comes to the next move.
    Have a great week!

Moving is a misery! We did it 3 years ago and vow never again! And yes, I too am slowly going through and getting rid of! You’d be surprised at how many people love to shop curbside! “) xx
