Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Shining Sea Tag Book}

July 2, 2012

I haven’t had much time for creating, blogging, or socializing this past week. Seems that computer time was done in moments or a quick break from tending the patient. This past week has also been a blur between hubby’s knee surgery and the intense heat. Thank you for all the well wishes sent our way. Hubby is surviving PT now a few times a week. His meniscus is wearing out in the knees, so they repaired what they could. My brother is doing really well with his new diet and is up to a mile of walking a day (major feat for him)…we just need to wait through the month of July for other medical tests to be done and have left it in the Lord’s hands to guide us.

This little tag book was creating using Avery shipping tags as the base, and covering them with pattern papers, collage images (Paper Whimsy), silver German scrap and other tidbits of ephemera. I hope this week to create more (and hide inside with the air conditioning)….I need to live in the British isles…my kind of weather! :)

Stay cool and have fun creating!

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Beautiful little tag book! Each one is a lovely work of art! Happy to hear your hubby is making it through PT. It can be rough at times going through that kind of sutgery. How blessed he is to have a good, dedicated wife to help him through it.

    Hello Dear Nancy, glad to hear things are progressing well with your Brother and Hubby. Do hope and pray for you that all the future results are positive. So pleased you’re still finding a little time to make such beautiful art in your sea tags, and of course we always await the next piece of art from you. Hoping you will find more creative time very soon, hugs Robyn xx

    Lovely, Nancy! And so very glad to hear that Steve is mending nicely and Rick is sticking to the diet and the walking regimen. Good for him! I’d be hard-pressed to walk a mile, not even taking this heat into account. God Bless you and your family!
