Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Shirley}

March 15, 2007

This week’s theme at Wednesday Stamper is “At The Movies” and I decided to play tribute to “Shirley Temple”. I remember watching all her old flicks as a little girl on Sunday mornings. One of my favorite movie’s she starred in was “Heidi”.

I created this collage using a PSX Design stamp which I stamped in Sepia versafine ink, and then chalked various colors. I used a watercolor brush to soften the colors a bit. I then stamped “red” lips. Shirley’s photo was changed to sepia tones, and various “word” phrases were added. Vintage photo ink was added to the edges.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    OMG!! Now I KNOW that we were created from the same mold! I just about died when I saw this posting, as Shirley Temple was my absolute favorite childhood star! I remember watching her every Sunday afternoon when I was a little girl, and I'm embarrassed to say that, until recently, I even owned a lot of her old movies on video. And yes…Heidi was my all-time favorite, as well…followed by "The Little Princess". I wish, now, that I hadn't given away all those videos!
