Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Silhouette}

November 17, 2008

This weeks theme at Gothic Arches is “Silhouette”…I found some free time yesterday to create this arch.

I decided to use the black crow template from Stampingtonas my silhouette. I added a black mini brad for his eye. The background is a combination of Hero Art stamps using black and vintage versafine. Handstitch done with fine black pen, old sheet music, vintage eggs and buttons added for detail.

    Hi, Nancy! What a genius idea to use a black brad for your raven's eye. It really makes it seem real and dimensional!

    And thanks for your nice comments on my blog! :-)

    I can never get enough of crows and you have used this one beautifully. They are strong, beautiful and willful and that is what you have captured.
