I am joining in this week with a piece that was made slowly over the winter. I am still waiting for my Canon DRebel to return from being worked on (2 months now) and cannot tell you how lost I am without it. I know so many are used to their smart phone cameras, and while I do find them useful…it just isn’t the same as a good camera.

I made the canvas using a variety of pattern papers, lace, mica chips and collage. Then I washed it with very diluted paints and sealed with Matte Gel Medium.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

This is so very beautiful, dear ,- dreamy, romantic and with the wonderful message, of thinking positive in all we do.

    Nancy,
    What a beautiful canvas!
The simplicity makes it all the more appealing! Did you use the mica for the wings? I love the transparency of them~ and yes, the quote is a favorite of mine as well!
    Beautifully done!
Thank you for your visit- you made my day!

Oh Nancy, this is beautiful! I love how the image really stands as the focal point; and the over-all vintage flair of this piece. Your white-washed seal over the different textures is so cool~ Thanks for the inspiration friend : ) Karen O (been away so am late in visits; got to see the family!)

Hello Nancy, I love the texture you have added to the background, and the whole effect is lovely – as usual, your work is so balanced and feels just right. I know what you mean about a good camera. You can achieve so much more with a great lens. But it is handy to have a smartphone to capture moments and beauty when out and about, too.
    Have a lovely week.
    Hugs,
    Jesse

Your collage is stunning, dear Nancy! The layering and texture is so beautiful! Good to see you creating again. And oh yes, I know what you mean about the camera. Mine is having hiccups now too and the quality of my phone camera is not as good either. Thank you for sharing the beautiful quote with us, dear. Big hugs to you! xx
