Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Simply Neutrals #34}

February 19, 2018

I am joining Wen for Simply Neutrals Tuesday. Please visit her blog and see Wen’s and see many other artists beautiful posts as well: appleapricot.blogspot.com

I was able to have some creative time this past weekend. It is a difficult thing to find as of late, so I am grateful when and if it does happen. These little chipboard tags were washed with white paint, and layers of paper collage and laces were applied on top.

I also had fun with Miss Adelaide. This antique dress yoke I found among my auction lots from October.
The package was marked “lace trim” when indeed it was a fully intact top to a woman’s dress from days gone by.
It really is beautiful.

Miss Adelaide also was able to “borrow” a felt hat that did not sell in my booth. I think she looks smashing in it. Don’t you?

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.
