Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Snowy Morning Tag and Altered Canvas}

Last year, I found this vintage image and instantly fell in love with it. The colors, the little girl, the scenery…it made my heart skip a beat and still does. I have it on my Pinterest board if you would like a copy.

I just wanted to share two projects that were made using the image. The canvas was done using a fabric collage/mixed media and the tag is made of paper products.

Don’t forget to share the upcoming event:

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Your collage and tag are both so beautiful, full of the spirit of beautiful christmas, and that lovely one of dayes gone by, that I love, gorgeous with all the little bits of this and that, and the wonderful sparkle!
    Thank you for the image to use…. Nancy how does you know when it is ok to use images from Pinterest pages ?? I`m alwayes a bit scared to do that, but I can see this woman has lots of wonderful images I would love to create with.

    You certainly picked the perfect image to highlight on your canvas and tag, Nancy. I love the combination of old music and vintage images and then throw in a little glass glitter and you have vintagey goodness.
    To answer your question about my altered matchbox…it was an everyday run of the mill 300 count matchbox from the grocery store.
