Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Somerset Apprentice Autumn 2011}

September 19, 2011

A few weeks ago I received my copy of Somerset Apprentice Autumn 2011. I am tickled to share that they published another page from my Altered Book featuring Paper Whimsy images and Hilda Conkling poetry. While this is not my favorite page from the collection, it is always nice to see art in print.

I thought I would share a few of the other pages from the book. It was shipped out to Somerset in July 2010 and has yet to come home to me again.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Wow ! Congrats., Nancy. The pages are lovely.
    Now that our Borders has closed (they carried all Stampington magazines) they are hard to find. I have a sub. to a few, can’t afford them all. I do miss browsing and picking the one I want.
    Most are printed here in Mi. yet they take forever to get to my house!

    Hi Nancy,
    When I first started blogging I had no idea what it was all about. I started out looking at scrapbook blogs because I did a little bit of scrapbboking. When I found your blog somewhere along the many blogs I looked at I was hooked on following you and your work. I love looking at beautiful things and I think your work is delightful for the eye to see. I just wanted to tell you that..
    This is one beautiful book.

    I am thrilled for you.
    I saw an advertisment in one of the publications and I was so sure it was your artwork but didn’t see you mention it in a post. I am proved right LOL.

    Nancy, I spotted this gorgeous page while thumbing through SA at the bookstore this week. I am so happy you posted the other pages too so we could see more. I really love the ones you shared the best too. My favorites are the little girls with the butterflies. I can’t believe they have had your book for over a year! lol Some great work in there obviously and so much to share. Congrats. Thanks again for your sweet comments on my recent projects.
