Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Somerset Gallery Winter 2010}

November 19, 2009

I found out yesterday from my friend Jan D. that we had been published on the same page in the Somerset Gallery Winter 2010 edition…woo hoo!!! I had sent the “Hogwarts” Gothic Arch over 2 years ago for consideration. Jan has the beautiful pieces using Paper Whimsy images on the page. I met her in September when the Paper Whimsy PJammer’s group came to Ann Arbor!

My “Queen Arch” was sent in August 2008 and is a collaboration with artist friend Daniel R. Boone. Daniel sent a piece of his gorgeous tinwork that I added to an arch for embellishment. What a thrill to have two art pieces that are shared with art friends that I know! :)

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    I'm always amazed that some artwork is still relevant after a 2 year wait, but it really is!

    Great job Nancy…I'll be in touch soon!

    Nancy, when I'm out buying my monthly load of magazines the first thing I do when I get home is to rush through the pages to see
    who's names I know. It will be fun to once again see your name in print. I'm happy for you.

    Congratulations on publication in the Somerset Gallery! It is surprising how artwork submitted many moons ago suddenly appears in publication! I had the same thing happen with this issue! Glad it did!
