Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Sparkle Heart & Stars Ornaments}

November 9, 2009

I made these sparkling heart and star ornaments over the weekend enjoying the wonderful warm sunshine as it streamed into the studio. I doubt we will have any more temps like this for a long time. The paper mache heart and stars were altered using paints, stamping (snowflakes), sparkle glitter, tinsel, buttons, sheer ribbon, bling and Paper Whimsy images.

Each ornament is double sided (the same collage on each side) and available in my Etsy Shop : sugarlumpstudios.etsy.com

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Good morning, Nancy! Oh, my! Every time I come here you have something new and beautiful that just makes me smile! Love these sugary stars–just fabulous! How do you affix your tinsel? It gives me such a headache! I want to use it more, but it drives me crazy!

    I am really loving these beauties Nancy!! The blue really makes them dreamy and wintery (is that a word?) and the tinsel is awesome. How you got that to stick is beyond me:) Hope you are having a wonderful week Sweetie! Love, Jamie

    Nancy, these are so beautiful. I of course, love hearts of all kind.
    When I saw the star and heart, my own heart skipped a beat as they so look like an antique Christmas ornament. Did I mention on my blog that I also love any antique Victorian die cut regarding Christmas/Easter along with my Valentine's. These are awesome.

    Nancy I really like these ornaments a lot. That's such a great idea for a tree as oppose to all the usual stuff we all buy. Why not buy some really unique handmade artwork from your Etsy shop and decorate a tree with some beautiful Victorian flare?
