Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Spring Forward}

March 14, 2011

I wanted to share a few projects with you that I completed the past two weeks. I’ve been creating a little of this…and a little of that…and trying to finish my class project for Artful Gathering.

As of March 1st, I am now a “WAHA” as I like to call it…”Work At Home Artist”…I left my part time position as a para professional at the High School after almost 9 years. I will still be maintaining the School District web sites from home, but now art and my Etsy shop are my business. A thrilling adventure but it has been difficult not being around the teenagers. I do plan to volunteer from time to time. The past two weeks have been a total blur, and honestly I am working harder than I did before…but it should all balance out soon!

We are still waiting on spring, the snow melts…and then we receive more. I do have hope as the birds are returning and they always know in their hearts when it is time.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Your artwork never fails to charm me with it's beaty and air of innocence.
    Sending my best wishes for this new stage in your life. A good move, surely :) A full-time artist is what you should be.

    Your finished projects are beautiful. It's nice to be a full time artist but yes, you will work more. I work from first thing in the morning to about 9pm every single day. The only real break I take is to eat and for blogging, hehe. Have fun in your new job. Hugs :)Connie
