The past few weeks have been a little chaotic around my home. My brother (who resides with us) just retired after 41 years of employment. I just finished my last day of work at the High School on Friday…graduation and final exams are always a bit exhausting. I am looking forward to my summer break and completing projects around the new home and creating.

This past weekend I was able to create some art (cards and collage) for my Etsy shop and had a ball doing it. My goal is to get back to blogging (and being better and visiting all the lovely blogs out there) and organizing our home/studio. I still have boxes down the basement (which had a small flood last weekend) but thankfully nothing was ruined. I have a small area in our bedroom where I have set up an area to create…until our basement is finished *which could be years* this will be my happy spot. I only miss one thing in our former home…my own space to play…but the nature and beauty that surrounds are new place is well worth the sacrifice.

A toast to summer and creating! Enjoying this wonderful time of year!
Happy Monday!

    Hi Nancy,

I've so out of the loop this past month or more on visiting blogs that I love and your blog is one of them. ♥ I always enjoy looking at all the beautiful stuff that you create.

I do know exactly where you are with the house organizing and still boxes to unpack. Thankfully with you doing paper art maybe you can utilize a whole wall for a design/and to hang up your finished pieces and very long table.

In my studio I've done that. I bought a piece of 2 inch thick [comes in a 4×5 foot sheet]. It a styrofoam insulation sheet. You can get them at Lowe's..{perfect for using straight pins to attach stuff} …they also make one thinner and comes in a 2×8 foot size. I put up the full 4×8 foot thick sheet and covered it with batting then covered it again with a vintage white damask tablecloth.

My husband is home full time now so we have been working like mad to get this house put together. Other than the remodeling work last summer I really couldn't get much done by myself plus 3 levels of living space…I just gave up! So I can happily say my studio is finished! Plus a bunch of other small projects…still many small projects to go!

Be sure to stop by my blog on Saturday for the "Where Bloggers Create" 2nd Annual Party. I can't remember if you were there last year or not?? I participated but I had just moved in and my studio was empty and I was having windows installed. So this year I can celebrate the completion of it.

Glad to hear you are settling in and that you have the summer vacation ahead of you. YAY!!

    Hugs,
    Stephanie ♥

These are all gorgeous, Nancy! We must be kindred souls–I have always loved using butterflies, old buttons, lace and glitter and prima flowers and old book pages in cards I make for my family. You have such a talent for putting everything together and making everything you create a true work of art!
