Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Sweet Rose & Hearts}

December 28, 2011

There is nothing like staying inside on a cold winter day and playing with fabric. You can throw in some leftover Christmas cookies and of course the Christmas tree lights twinkling and I am a pretty happy lady! While the rest of the world battles for sales at the mall (I am hiding – too many years in retail for that)…I am content to create. I can wait to hit a few bargains after the stores are quiet!

This little gal is a Paper Whimsy image that was made into a fabric pouch. There are subtle hints of rose on the lace and flower that I added.

The heart was hand sewn using organic batting and oodles of lace, buttons and pearls. I love hearts (February baby here) so the holiday approaching is one of my favorite days of the year. I love how the neutral colors of the bag just melt into one another.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I would like to thank you for the overwhelming response in regards to the newsletter – you all ROCK! I am busy creating many things right now and hope to share sometime soon!

Starting January 2012, I will be producing a newsletter. I am really excited about this new venture and hope you will join the fun!
