Sweet Tinsel Hearts

These sweet little hearts can be made any size simply by tracing a heart shape on to cardboard. Decorate with collage images and hang, add to a gift, or string on a ribbon to make a bunting.

Supplies:

Pattern Paper
Sheet Music
German Scrap Silver Wings
Ephemera
Paper Whimsy Sheet 133
Paper Whimsy Sheet 022
Eyelets
Silver Tinsel Loop or Stems
Hot Glue Gun
Cardboard
Heart Template Shape
Distress Ink
Silver Stickles
Ribbon
Bling
Adhesive

Technique:

(1) Trace hearts on to lightweight cardboard. I used a cereal box. Cut hearts out and cover with pattern paper using double sided tape. Trim access paper along edge. You may also cover the back side with pattern paper if you wish.

(2) Tear strips of sheet music and adhere to front of each heart using a glue stick. Trim off access paper along heart edges.

(3) Glue little bits of ephemera (old books, tickets etc.) to the front of heart in center.

(4) Using double sided tape, glue silver German scrap wings to back of collage image. Secure the image and wings on the center of the heart.

(5) Hot glue along the edges of heart and slowly add silver tinsel trim, bending and gluing a little at a time. Trim with scissors.

(6) Set two eyelets at the top of heart making sure they are centered.

(7) Tie ribbon or lightweight wire through the eyelets at the top of hearts to hang.
