I started a new journal book this weekend. While it is not my best work, I am trying to just make art and use my right hand the best I can. I decided to use this vintage photo of the two little girls (again) because it really tugs at my heart-strings. This new journal will be filled with song lyrics and this spread is titled “Beautiful Child” from Fleetwood Mac (Tusk album).

I’m anxious to try making more pages…it has been far too long! Happy Sunday!

{June Journal Pages}

Hello Friends! I have had some time to do art and focus on it this past week. These journal pages are part of a large chipboard journal I have been working on since January 2014. The longest art project EVER for me. The majority of why it has not been finished is using my right hand again. But, when I am able to create it makes me very happy! Once the entire journal is finished I will share it all with you.

My daughter bought me the most wonderful novel last week and I finished it. It was supposed to be part of my therapy in reading comprehension/concentration. I could NOT put it down. I strongly recommend “At The Water’s Edge” by Sarah Gruen. The plot is set in Scotland during World War II. I loved it!

Me and “Grump’s” are getting our summer on. The horrible heat has not hit Michigan yet, so far it has been very enjoyable.
I hope you are enjoying summer “where ever” you are! <3

Hello Dear Friends! I managed the past few days to hang out in the studio. My mojo has been pouring out, my energy not so much. I go with the flow…and Sunday it was really pouring. This is a new page in the chipboard journal I started last year. Layers of paint, texture, more paint. I used images and alterables (fence, wings, and hearts) from Paper Whimsy. The song lyrics are from an old Stevie Nicks song that I have always loved dearly.

I wanted to thank you again for your continued support, messages, and those who have come out of lurking yet again. It really means so much to me.

StrokeWarningSigns

On January 24, I will be at 6 months since the stroke. How is that even possible? It seems just like yesterday, but at times so long ago. I’m doing PT at a new location 2 days a week right now. Today, I stepped on a treadmill as I now have an AFO for my leg. It was set VERY low, but I did 5 minutes before my toe was dragging and we stopped to rest. I cried, my physical therapist hugged me and she reminded me that it was a HUGE accomplishment.

I finished this Gothic Arch book that I had been working on for the past few weeks over the weekend. Lots of springy colors and Paper Whimsy images and alterables throughout it. It’s been awhile since I’ve made one — and it felt good to finally get some art done from beginning to end.

I came across this a few weeks ago on Pinterest and had to share…made me feel better about my artist self! ;) Happy Monday!
