{Soulful Adornments Necklace}

September 13, 2013

soulfuladorn1

Way back in April, I enrolled in the online course Soulful Adornments with instructor Terri Heinz of artfulaffirmations.blogspot.com and finally I am posting my first little piece that was constructed during this class.

I was so excited to take part because soldering was a new avenue for me, but also because in December 2011 I met Miss Terri as she traveled through Michigan.

My necklace was made from old broken jewelry bits that came out of my own jewelry box, and a vintage rosary that I purchased. I love PURPLE so I was able to incorporate that into the piece as well.

My first beveled walls are a little crooked and quirky – but I did enjoy the process. The hardest part for me is shutting jump rings – something I am working on. Terri’s class was worth every penny! I learned so much and do hope to make many more of these altered adornments…and maybe make one as “beautimous” as her art one day!

{Xoxo’s and more xoxo’s}

January 12, 2012

A few little projects that have been created this week. Shabby cones with a cupid touch, a few tags, and more jewelry that hubby created. This time with hearts (my favorite) and lots of bling. Doesn’t seem like Valentine
s Day is quickly approaching because we have had super warm weather here in Michigan. It hit 48 degrees here…but that is supposed to change tonight – snow and cold temps are in the forecast. Doesn’t seem like January without snow! ;) Happy Thursday to you!

{Dreams Charm Necklace}

January 9, 2012

I told you last week that “Mr. Sugar Lump” was working on creating something and wanted to share it. A charm necklace full of sparkly goodness. Antique silver finish and loaded with hearts (faux rhinestone), crystals, celtic knots, black beads, and a beautiful rhinestone medallion. My daughter Alli was over this afternoon so I was able to get her to model it. I think it turned out pretty awesome – hope you think so too! :)

If you don’t receive the Paper Whimsy Newsletter I wanted to share a new adventure coming this year!
Julie Loeschke and Jill McCall will be joining the Design Team. Julie does not have a blog (but I am working on her to create one) but you can visit Jill with the link provided.

{Alaskan Sea Glass}

June 8, 2011

Yesterday, I received the most beautiful surprise in my mail! It was a hot and horrible day, and my mind was dreaming of running away up to northern Michigan (Mackinaw City) and letting the cool breezes of the lake cool me down. When I opened the package from Deb in Alaska it totally calmed my grumpy soul!

Inside was a beautiful handmade card, wonderful bits of loose sea glass and shells…and a GORGEOUS necklace that Deb made. My heart melted on the spot (and not from the heat) because not only was I blessed to receive treasures like this, but it was almost as though Deb knew my soul. Water girl I am…I live near it and need it in my life to keep my grounded. The sea glass bits will be displayed in my coastal theme bath…which Deb had no clue that my decor matches what she sent perfectly.

I will cherish this beautiful necklace and it will fit in so well with my wardrobe.
Thank you sweet Deb for raising my spirits and blessing my heart!

You may see more of Deb’s beautiful jewelry here:

I am trying today to stay cool again – our high will be above 96 degrees! Happy Wednesday! :)
