I finished up this altered cabinet card canvas this week and was pleased with the results. It had only been sitting on my art table for 5 months plus, but I just couldn’t put together the final embellishments on the piece. Finally, something clicked. I call her ” Bèbè Sadie” and used an original antique cabinet card photo. Old ledger paper, laundry clothespin, rusty pins in a vile, and bits of antique lace are scattered over the piece. A paper rose takes center stage on the most unique piece of lace.

The weather is getting much colder here and so many autumn leaves are at their peak. I wish they could stay a few more weeks before disappearing. Have a wonderful weekend.

I filled this little metal shadow/jewelry box with sweet little baby vintage goodness. The linen background is the perfect backdrop for adding some crocheted vintage lace and a sweet little baby bib. I then added a rhinestone scatter pin and some mother of pearl buttons.The baby photo is an original and a little silk flower with pearl stamens. It was so fun to create!

Thank you for stopping by!

I’m sharing something that I created using a Antique Victorian Dress Petticoat Flounce…a little shabby…a little old…and a pinch of romance thrown in for good measure. I’ve had the remnant in my stash for a couple months just waiting to be made into something. There are wonderful stains and little tiny tears from wear in it too. I added a lace handle and two of my handmade fabric flowers for some girly girl bling.

I’m also enjoying Miss Millie Mae more and more each day! We were able to go outside and enjoy some sunshine the other day — but she seems to love the snow (her older sister cannot stand it.) Millie won’t know what grass is until May with the amount still on the ground! :-)

{Precious Altered Shabby Collage Frame}

This is just a little simple project I made to share this week. I painted a chalkboard frame, inserted pattern paper on the inside and added the sweet baby photo. Silver stickles highlight the photo and a bit of chalk to give the baby rosie cheeks. A beautiful antique hankie with millinery flowers and mother of pearl buttons were added to the bottom. My hanger is made from seam binding.

I hope you are enjoying your last week of August! I can’t believe that summer is almost over!
