Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Think Pink}

January 31, 2007

Published on page 62 of August/September Somerset Memories

Last week I found this old school photo of my grandfather and his classmates.
My grandfather (Peter Stewart Maxwell) was born in Scotland and came to the states in his early twenties. Just by a guesstimate – this photo was taken in between 1900-1902. Grandpa is the “wee laddie” in the top row – left hand corner.

I chose to use this photo for this week’s “Wednesday Stamper” challenge.
“Think Pink” is the theme. Rather than “girls” I selected “boys” – because let’s face it – be they young or old “Real Men Wear Pink” and they sure look HANDSOME in it! :)

Supplies used: Just Johanna Large Swirl Stamp, Magenta Hearts stamp (thanks Kim Prince for the blog prize), Making Memories foam letter stamps, Vintage Sepia ink (Versafine) and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink, prima flowers, mini brads, various pattern papers and a “P” sticker.

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.
