Sugar Lump Studios

Art by Nancy Maxwell James

{Transitions Arch}

March 9, 2008

This weeks theme at Gothic Arch Challenge is to create an arch using “transitions” as a theme. I thought of caterpillars turning into butterflies, babies becoming old men, spring into winter…but really couldn’t come up with something in my mind. For some reason a “lady bug” came to my mind – and that is the theme I went with. Ribbon, pattern paper, wings with glitter dots, vintage image, lady bug stamp and mini brads were used to complete the look. The word art “Behind Us” was added.

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Oh, I keep thinking about making an arch for the challenge, but keep running out of time. I love yours this week. It is so very pretty.

    OWOH was so much fun. Today I'm making the rounds and saying "hello". This was such a great opportunity to meet other bloggers and make new friends. It's amazing how much creativity is floating around.

    Wishing you a great day, and lots of warmth.
