{Warm & Shabby Hearts}

November 14, 2010

We had a gorgeous week here in Michigan with warm temps and plenty of sunshine. The majority of our endless maple tree leaves are now raked. This morning, I awoke to gloomy, cold November skies. My mood is starting to think about being inside, staying warm and of course the upcoming Holiday Season. I started these little ornaments last weekend…using organic batting and bits of antique laces. Some have little seed beads, mother of pearl buttons, and silver snowflake charms.

I have a weakness for hearts (collect them when one strikes my fancy) and again thought I might like this on a corner tree. I love white lights on a tree…and this year we plan to have two trees…hubby loves his color lights and I will give him the big tree! :)

Each heart was hand stitched and rolled in sparkle snow for just a bit of glitz.
The images are all from Paper Whimsy.

I will probably list a few of these on my Etsy shop…just have to decide which one I can part with! :) Happy Sunday!

    I don't think I would be able to part with any of them. It's funny that you will have two tree's to satisfy the like of the lights! I love white lights too! Or all one color lights.

    Your Arch(previous post) is beautiful. I love it!!!

    Hi Nancy. This morning the landscape is white with frost, everything does look sparkly with the morning sun reflecting. Your hearts give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. You create with such beauty. I hope you will photograph your tree (or should I say trees!) for all to see. Have a lovely week. Lynne M x

    Oh, Nancy, theses are just precious!!!!! I am going to have to get off the computer and start my Christmas cards and things–you are SUCH an inspiration to me! Every year I make little ornaments only for my sisters and mom because I am always so far behind, and something like these little hearts would be perfect for ornament gifts for them–if I had a job right now I'd just buy up all your scrumptious Etsy offerings! Someday, I hope! . . . And I just LOVE coming over to your blog to see what new and wonderful art you have created! Have a wonderful week . . . Smiles, Jann

    Nancy, I absolutely love these cream/white colored and sewn hearts, they are so, so pretty. They are going to make amazing ornaments. You're so talented!! Sorry I haven't commented on your awesome work lately, I've been so busy with other projects I've neglected my favorite Blogs and my own Blog. However, I'm very glad I stopped by to see these heart ornaments, it's a great idea for a shabby chic/whimsical tree.
