Sweetheart Whimsies

As seen on the Paper Whimsy Inspire Blog:
http://paperwhimsy.com/inspiration/?p=2229

These little chipboard whimsies are easy peasy to create. Just add a sprinkling of love and you have a sweet gift for someone special!

(1) Trace chipboard shape on the wrong side of a piece of pattern paper and cut out. Apply pattern paper to chipboard using Matte Gel Medium. Allow drying time.

(2) Add Silver stickles along the edge of the piece. Allow time to set and dry.

(3) Collage a bit of sheet music, Paper Whimsy face and word art on to front with Matte Gel Medium.

(4) Cut out hearts from lightweight cardboard, apply Matte Gel Medium and sprinkle with Pure Silver Glass Glitter. Allow time to set up and dry.

(5)Punch two holes in top of chipboard and string wire (or ribbon) through the top to create hanger. Tie a small piece of ribbon on wire.

(6) Glue gathered lace to the back of chipboard to form a ruffle at the bottom. Glue pink trim adding sequins, buttons or other embellishments to the front. Add silver glass glitter hearts and flowers.

Victorian Paper Lace Hearts

As seen on the Paper Whimsy Inspire Blog:
http://paperwhimsy.com/inspiration/?p=2226

Did you ever make paper hearts to give at Valentine’s Day when you were a child? This project features lace doily hearts and Paper Whimsy images. The heart has a hanger so it may be displayed on the door, mantle, a knob on a dresser or cabinet and many other special places. It can be used as a decoration for years to come celebrating the romance of this time of year.

(1) Trace heart on to pattern paper and cut out. Glue heart to another piece of pattern paper and cut out again. You can use pinking shears or another decorative scissor to give an edge. If you wish for a third layer – repeat the process.

(2) Add Silver Stickles along the edge of heart and butterfly wings and set aside to dry. Add lace heart doily to center of heart. I added a piece of old sheet music behind my doily and trimmed with decorative scissors.

(3) Adhere image to center of heart. Add word text banner below image. Add butterflies, flowers, buttons and other embellishments on heart.

(4) Punch two holes in top of heart and set eyelets. Run ribbon through for hanger.
