{Whispers & Lace Fabric Book}

July 8, 2013

whispers&lace3

I finished this fabric collage book about a week ago and was very pleased with the results.

The special lace jabot and delicate rhinestone pin were just the finishing touches to adorn the front cover.

I thought this delicate doily was a perfect accent for the cover too!

This is the entire book cover with the front and back image.

whispers&lace5

I love the little bit of a pout that is present in this darling face.

Another shot of the lace at an angle…

A side view showing the many pages within the book…

I love the pale pink calico against this collage image…it makes her rosy cheeks pop out even more…

whispers&lace9

The sweet little one on the right reminds me a bit of Shirley Temple because her face is just too darn cute!

whispers&lace10

More lace, and a few beads…

whispers&lace11

I added a few pocket pages so one could journal or tuck in special mementos…

Little bits of antique silk remnants were gathered up to form a ruffle…

I love the expression and the hit of pink in the photo…

Such a fancy hat for a pretty little girl…

Thank you for your lovely comment on my sister’s card on my blog.
The stamped image is a thistle and it comes from a set called Big & Wild Things by a company called Gel-a-tins – http://www.gelatinstamps.com
I fell in love with them as they are quite large.

Hi Annie, thank you for your kind comments. the book is hand and machine stitched so the pages stay together from the spine of fabric being sewn together.
