I know it is a bit early thinking about winter and the holiday season, but this image sparked my muse this week and my art just went with it.

I created a fabric collage using a sweet image from one of the Paper Whimsy archive newsletters. I inserted the fabric collage once it was complete into a shabby box (that my husband created) that had been painted a shabby/creamy white.

Next, I added antique lace around the outside edge of the box and embellished with mother of pearl buttons. Inside the box, little buttons, mini glass ornaments, and silver snowflakes were all added as embellishments. The final touch was a dusting of mica chips on the collage and bottom ledge of the box.

I hope you enjoy this new creation – even though winter is a few months away!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I just love this…and the image is perfect. A good way to use lace and doilies…I’ve been hoarding mine tooooo much. I think your weather is way cooler than mine, but I’m not ready for snowflakes (real ones anyway) just yet.

How lovely, Nancy! By removing the sweet pink ornaments (or not!), your darling addition to Christmas decor also serves as a sweet “winter” piece for the period after Christmas decorations have been (sadly) put away, and spring seems as if it will never arrive. xoxo
