Sugar Lump Studios - A Sweet Smattering of Mixed Media Art

Green Floral Friendship Fold Out Album

August 4, 2021

I cut a 2 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock. The measurements are 5 inches tall by 12 inches long. Next, I used a scoring tool and made scores every 3 inches. I attached both pieces together AFTER I cut one panel off. Make sure it all folds into the correct direction and glue the middle area.

I made little front and back covers just a smidgen larger using scrap cardboard. I covered those pieces of cardboard with pattern papers and wrapped the inner like a present (corner wise) and glued down. Next, I placed glue on the back of the first panel and centered it down on the cover.

All the pattern paper panels were cut just a tad smaller then the 3 inches and alternated through the book. I used my favorite paper adhesives to secure and added collage faces, poetry, ephemera, washi tapes.

All the papers in this project are Digital. A variety of digital collage images were also used.

Fold Out Paper Accordion Card

June 20, 2021

I am sharing another little fold out that was made in all pink with you today. There were several that I made up as proto types for a class last week. This album was made using a variety of things. Old K & Company sticker borders, butterflies, pattern papers, poetry ephemera, collage images, and digital images. I also typed a poem and cut it into strips that were added to each page.

Are there any projects that you would like to see created here? Please let me know in the comments below.

Fold Out Friendship Album

June 14, 2021

I have been creating quite a few of these little albums as of late. I suppose because they can be set aside and worked on when there is time to create in my studio. I wanted to share this one with you today. The neat thing about this project is you can use any images you like.
